Happy Wednesday everyone! Issue #3 of Ultimate Spider-Man dropped today and I’m enjoying it, and I gather everyone else is as well. So let’s take a look at how Harry’s character is developing in the new universe.
We met him in issue #1, speaking at a memorial service for his parents and the many other people killed by (what’s assumed to be) Tony Stark. It was probably pretty obvious to Spider-Man fans at that point that Harry was the man under the Green Goblin mask, and this cover to Ultimate Spider-Man #2 confirmed it:

I LOVE that cover! It’s so pretty! I wish I’d been able to find it at a comic book store.
Harry doesn’t actually show up in #2 though apart from these panels where he watches the Shocker escape. (And is presumably just about to go after him.)

Harry plays a much larger role in #3!
Peter learns about the new vigilante from the Bugle. In this universe, it’s Robbie who gives him his name.

Nice going there, Peter! That doesn’t sound weird at all!
Jonah and Ben have a map with all the Goblin’s previous attacks marked out on it, so Peter decides to try a stakeout and see if the Goblin shows up. Eventually, after a whole page’s worth of waiting, he does! And he’s in the middle of a fight with the supervillain/all around not very nice man Bullseye.

Harry has drawn a little goblin on his bomb. How… cute?
Bullseye soon gets the upper hand on Harry and Spider-Man comes to the rescue.

Bullseye traps Peter beneath a falling crane but Harry remains in the fight.
This Harry is quite a bit more badass than his 616 counterpart, right? Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to you.

Working together, Harry and Peter take Bullseye out.

But as soon as the fight is over, Harry declines to call the police (he says that Fisk owns them) and instead gets his glider to carry Bullseye away to… somewhere.

But where?! Is Harry keeping these guys like trophies?! Or sending them to someone else? I think the answer to that is going to be BIG.
Harry then does something rather unsettling and disables the mask on Peter’s suit (he has access to the Stark technology which controls the suit) and reveals his new ally’s face. Without Peter’s permission.

To be fair, Harry then immediately reveals his own face and name.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the world is a strange and dangerous place these days,” Harry tells Peter. Peter had most definitely noticed. “You wanna get a drink? Maybe talk about it?”
Peter says:

And the issue ends! So it looks like next time Harry and Peter will go for that drink, and Harry’s wife (!) Gwen Stacy will be along for the ride as well.
What did you think of the issue, Harry fans?
I love the story so far! For a moment I thought Marvel would come with a ridículos plot twist like GG was Liz or Norman who never wad dead or something like this. I’m happy Harry is the main goblin here 👍
