We have a new Ultimate Spider-Man, this one created by Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto! Here’s a quick run-down of everything you need to know about this new universe, number 6160:

• The Maker (Reed Richards) reshaped the universe and people we expect to be superheroes aren’t superheroes anymore
• The Maker caused a crisis (blamed on Tony Stark) that killed many important people, including Norman Osborn and May Parker
• Peter was never bitten by the spider that turned him into Spider-Man, is now an adult, and has been living a normal life with his wife MJ and their kids

Oh, and one more thing (BIG spoilers from this point on) Uncle Ben is alive in this universe! Mourning the death of May, but alive and well and working at the Daily Bugle!

But you’re here for Harry of course. Are you ready? Here he is:

They’re at a memorial service for the dead and that’s Matt Murdock aka Daredevil speaking. In this, he’s a Catholic priest.

Harry gives a very interesting speech at the memorial.

This speech paints Norman as a good dad. Was he? Or will it eventually turn out that the Norman of 6160 was as bad as the one of 616?

Harry doesn’t sound like he’s coping well with the deaths of his parents, and it only gets worse from there.

“I’m not sure any of us should be expected to live with it,” says Harry. Doesn’t that sound a bit vigilante-ish?

Harry’s speech weirded Peter and MJ out a bit.

Here’s a big change from the source material: Peter and Harry don’t know each other. But I’m guessing they’re going to get to know each other very soon.

I think I know what they might bond over. Harry is now an orphan, and Peter in this universe was orphaned far later than usual, so he still has memories of his parents.

Not long after the memorial service, Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin informs the staff at the Daily Bugle that they have to “toe the line” and stop focusing on the “Stark terror attack” This causes both Ben and J Jonah Jameson (a much nicer guy here then he is in, say, the Spider-Man Insomniac games) to quit.

But then…

Kingpin’s car is blown up by a bomb. (He survives, though.) And who did it? None other than the Green Goblin!

Now it’s not confirmed Harry is under that mask, but he’s by far the most likely suspect, right?

Issue #2 of Ultimate Spider-Man will be out in February and we’ll for sure see more of Harry then! In the meantime, let me known in the comments where you think this story might go!
