It’s Harry’s birthday today!

This probably wasn’t on purpose, but it so happens that we got an exciting announcement today as well! J.M. DeMatteis, the man behind many of the best Harry stories, is writing a new one soon.

This is Shadow of the Green Goblin and it’s a four-part series primarily about Nels van Adder, the Proto-Goblin who appeared way back when in 1997’s Spider-Man -1, and about Peter Parker too of course. But according to DeMatteis himself, Harry will play a part:

“I’ve always been fascinated with Peter Parker’s early days as Spider-Man, a time before he fully understood what it meant to be a super hero,” DeMatteis shared. “SHADOW OF THE GOBLIN allows us to take a deep dive into Young Peter’s mind and emotions as he makes his way through this exhilarating, and sometimes terrifying, new world.”

“We take an equally-deep dive into the dysfunctional dynamic of the Osborn family, seeing how that generational pain sowed the earliest seeds of Norman’s Green Goblin identity and left its traumatic imprint on Harry,” he added. “If you think you know everything there is to know about Peter and the Osborns, think again!”

The comic will be drawn by Michael Sta. Maria and its release date is set for April 2024! This is the first time DeMatteis has written Harry in ages so I’m VERY excited!
