Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man: Torn #1

This comic came out on Wednesday and has already proven itself a total gem. It focuses on Peter’s college years, and so of course Harry and the gang play a role there.

Harry isn’t in the comic much, which is totally fine since it’s not really about him, but what we do get is great. After Peter tortures Sandman and fights some terrorists, he stops by a beach party with Harry, Gwen and MJ. Here we see Harry and Peter figuring each other out before they became best friends.

Then the quartet have a deep and saddening conversation packed with irony. Gwen muses on her future career, unable of course to know that she’ll be dead long before she can strike out on her own.

And Harry too cannot possibly know the horrors his life will have in store for him.

Remember, Norman had sold Harry’s soul to the devil by this point!

“I just want to be happy,” Harry says. But he never really will be.

MJ has a great speech here as well. I love you MJ.

While bad stuff is happening on the college campus, the gang drives home.

These kids are all so adorable and such terrible things happen to them AAAARGH.

Peter blows off his friends (as he will do on a regular basis for the rest of his life) and goes to tackle the threat on campus. It’s a blonde lady seeking a magic book, and the book turns her into a blonde MONSTER!

And that’s that! Do pick up the comic if you get a chance, it’s a good one. I’ll keep you informed of any other Harry appearances in it!
