—This post contains spoilers, albeit very early-on ones, for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!—

I got the game today and unfortunately I forgot how terrible I was at video games. Harry and Peter’s touching bike ride was ruined by my crashing into poles every few seconds. I’m sorry! I tried! And I will try again tomorrow. I did get further today than what I expected!

Here’s a few bullet-point thoughts on the Harry presented in this game:

• He’s adorable in the flashback scenes! He wears a beanie and sings in glee club, d’awww. Also, petition to make Never Gonna Give You Up an official Harry song, how about it?
  
  
• I am absolutely delighted to have a Harry who counts Emily rather than Norman as his driving force. Many adaptations don’t feature her at all, after all! Also, I was absolutely not expecting Emily to be the originator of the “heal the world” motto. (I really need to write about Emily more on this blog.)
  
  
• Harry in this game seems to be much more of a scientific genius than he’s usually portrayed as, but I want to give a shout out to the original 616-verse Harry for his oft-forgotten science skills. Peter did actually consult him for science-related things every now and again.
  
  
• This Harry is clearly a decent person, but it occurs to me that his attempts to get Peter working at the Emily-May Foundation are a little… this strikes me as way too harsh but I don’t know what another term would be… A little like love-bombing? Not the same thing (because it is not being used as an abuse tactic), but Harry goes really over the top to make Peter join him in his endeavor. Honestly, it’s like he’s proposing! It’s rather fascinating.
  

Side note: Why did the symbiote seem to explode out of Norman in the beginning?! Don’t tell me I’m gonna get to the end of the game and suddenly he’ll be Venom.
